What Treasure says seems to resonate whole-heartedly with teachers who believe that conscious, connected listening is paramount in the classroom. Modeling by educators speaks volumes when it comes to improving student listening abilities.

This year I plan to work towards becoming far more connected to our students. Developing a ‘conscious listening’ approach, especially in times of stress, is an important skill that few of us (hope to) possess, but far fewer of us actually utilize to engage, connect with those in our school communities (and I suspect at home, too).
