Big Data Science: The New Oil (and our kids aren’t ready for this!)

If there’s any truth or an inkling of resonance to the following infographic then we are poorly underestimating the kind of education and preparation we are currently offering the students of British Columbia. 

Hey, social teacher still valuing the date of confederation as a ‘teachable moment’ apparently ‘data science’ is the new oil. Good bye real estate agents, good bye travel booking folks. It looks as though the big ‘lovely’ data is in, and our ever reactive education system once again appears ill-prepared for what lies ahead regarding gainful employment for our young people.
